Sarah Koussevitzky began teaching students seeking a fully Jewish music curriculum in 2021. As she searched for beginner-friendly Jewish sheet music, she quickly realized there were very few resources available. Most songs were written for experienced musicians, leaving beginners to guess notes and rhythms instead of learning to read music with confidence.

Seeing this gap inspired the creation of 613 Music Academy’s Approachable Piano Book Collection.

Every book in this collection is designed to help students build strong music-reading skills from their very first lesson using the Jewish songs they know and love. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by music that is too advanced, beginners can develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of making music.
